Luxury Yacht - Riva Yacht 88' Florida, the first luxury convertible yacht!
Riva Luxury 88' Florida!
The thrill of a coupé, the freedom of an open luxury yacht. The 88' Florida, the revolutionary luxury yacht and spiritual successor of the Bahamas luxury yacht, unveils a brand new innovation, an exclusive Ferretti Group patent installed for the first time on this luxury yacht. We are talking about the "Convertible Top", a system designed and developed by the Engineering Department in collaboration with some of the Group's technical partners, which turns the yacht into a multifunctional, "convertible" luxury yacht, given that with one simple manoeuvre it can be turned from an open into a coupé luxury yacht, or vice versa. In fact, the "Convertible Top" combines two separate functions, thanks to the option of positioning the aerodynamic hard top towards the bow in the open mode, or secured above the cockpit in the coupé luxury yacht mode. The luxury yacht 88' Florida can therefore incorporate two different luxury yachts into a single one, offering owners a wide range of solutions so they can fully experience their passion for the sea. The luxury yacht hard top design is integrated both into the deckhouse, covering the dinette to the bow, and into the windshield and the steel roll bar. The movement works via a pantograph mechanism that controls two pairs of arms - one for each side - connected to the same top. This system can be operated when the boat is moored and is controlled by an electronic command unit, featuring sensors that ensure it is easy to use. It is connected to an anemometer that stops it from working under adverse weather conditions to guarantee the greatest operational safety. The hard top can be fastened into an open position via the arms, which hold it locked to the deckhouse, together with the section bars inside the cavities where the arms automatically return once they have been moved, stopping them from shifting or vibrating. It can be secured in the coupé position by the pair of electro-hydraulic fastenings on the roll bar and by a mechanical locking system on the windshield, where you will also find two safety locks that are triggered when the arms are released. The side openings can be closed with transparent canopies or plexiglass units with steel frames. It represents a new horizon for this iconic luxury yachting brand. At an overall length of 26.70 m (87 ft 7 in) and a full beam of 6.30 m (20 ft 8 in), the Riva luxury yacht 88' Florida has given a world preview in mid-May in Monte Carlo and was then one of the three lucxury yacht gems that Riva exhibited in September 2015 at the "Cannes Yachting Festival". The hull on the first model will come in Moon Grey, a new light metallic grey that enhances the boat's sleek lines, working in contrast with the Bright Black details. It also features excellent performance. The standard luxury yacht 88' Florida comes fitted with two 2435-Mhp MTU 16V 2000 M93 engines, allowing the yacht to reach a maximum speed of 38.5 knots and a cruising speed of 34 knots. The optional, more powerful configuration installed on the first example offers two 2638-Mhp MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines. With these engines, it can reach a maximum speed of 40.5 knots and a cruising speed of 36 knots (preliminary data).
